The work of the Messiah is to come and deliver the saints. It is also the work of the Messiah to prepare us for His coming. The trumpets that blow during the Days of Awe are designed to do that. It is His hope that all would come to the altar and receive pardon. His great desire will culminate in a grand, but final altar call just before He comes.
The call to the altar is delivered during the Days of Awe and is known as The Time of the End. This period of time will last three and a half years and is a time of trial for the saints and reconciliation for the world. It is also known as the Time of the Gentiles. Revelation 11:1-7 This period of time reaches a climatic event known as the End of Time. The spring festivals fold into the fall festivals at the end of time.
Just before the Messiah comes, the prophets of God will be sacrificed. Revelation 6:9-11; 16:5-6 This event is followed by a Passover. Revelation 14:14-16 Then the prophets are offered as First Fruits (Revelation 14:1-13) which is followed by the plagues. Revelation 14:18-20; 15:1-8; 16:1-21 The plagues are known as the time of Jacob's Trouble and are so terrible that unless they are cut short, no one will survive.
Once the plagues have fallen, the saints, both living and dead in Christ, are resurrected and rescued celebrating Pentecost. The Day of Atonement and Pentecost are the same event. Only those that have received the at-one-ment will be reaped. Mankind has been given the right of choice to serve God or the world. However, opportunity will knock and become null and void to those that would not open the door. Revelation 3:20-22
Confessed sins have been collecting in the Heavenly temple since the foundation of the world. These sins are cleansed from the temple and poured out on the devil. (Azazel, the scapegoat) This cleanses the tabernacle making it ready to receive the saints which have also been cleansed.
The end of time is a misnomer because it doesn't mean that time will not exist at this point; however, our time in servitude to sin and death will be over. It describes the time when the saints have been given a respite from the bondage of this world and will be invited to tabernacle with God until he claims the planet and recreates a New Earth. We have been released from servitude to sin through a sabbatical. The Feast of Tabernacles is a sabbatical or high holy day and follows the Day of Atonement in celebration of the harvest.
It appears to me that the beginning of sorrows will begin in the season of autumn (I don't know which autumn), and Jesus will come in the spring 3.5 years later. Therefore, the spring festivals become intertwined with the fall festivals as they become guideposts for the time of the end (fall festivals) and the end of time (spring festivals). The Abomination of Desolation initiates the time of trouble that the world has never known and requires a Passover. Matthew 24:15-21; Mark 13:14-20; Luke 21:20-23 This time of trouble lasts during the days of the spring festivals and is the end of time.
Pentecost (harvest of earth) and The Day of Atonement (Coming of Christ as King) come on the same day identifying the coming of our King and deliverance from bondage. Matthew 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27; Luke 21:25-28 This may appear strange to those that have studied the feasts but consider the following.
- The spring festivals, especially Pentecost, is a celebration of the harvest. Leviticus 23
- The end of the world is a harvest; therefore, the end of the world is Pentecost. Matthew 13:27-30; 39
- Jesus at His coming is the King of Kings and heralds the at-one-ment. Revelation 19:11-16
- Jesus reaps at His coming. Matthew 25:24-27; Revelation 14:14-20
Passover - Abomination of Desolation - Prophets are Slain
Why do the spring festivals suddenly become pertinent? This planet is about to be destroyed and the saints (including the dead in Christ) are preparing for a mass exodus. An exodus from bondage often requires a Passover sacrifice. We have multiple examples of this truth. Genesis 3:21-24; Genesis 8:18-20; Exodus 12:1-14 Ha Satan believes that if he slays the primary trouble makers (144,000) then the rest of the believers will be much easier to control. Therefore, Ha Satan sets up the Abomination of Desolation. He persuades his followers to commit an act that is so abominable that the world becomes a desolate place. No longer will the voice of the bridegroom or the bride be heard. The Holy Spirit will no longer invite men and women of the world to come unto salvation because the time of the gentiles has come to an end with their act of abomination.
What act do they commit that is so abominable? They slay the prophets. In the time of the end, everyone that becomes a servant of God begins to prophesy. Therefore, those that receive the message of the prophets also receive the prophets reward and are anointed with the testimony of Jesus, which is the spirit of prophecy. Revelation 19:10; Matthew 10:40-42 However, Ha Satan needs servants in his kingdom. He believes that if he can silence the prophets that initiated the prophecy, the persuaded ones will walk away from the message. He promises greater peace and prosperity to those that will eliminate the problem. Therefore, the abomination of desolation is set up as a sacrifice of the prophets.
Why would God allow such a heinous act? The blood of the prophets will not save anyone during the time of wrath anymore than the shed blood of bulls and goats can save anyone. It is the blood of Jesus that saves; however, it is the shedding of innocent blood that moves us to recognize our need and seek the Savior. The prophets know from the beginning this will be their end, but they are strong in their faith and demonstrate that the way often goes by the cross. This special group of people are willing to follow their Lord wherever He leads. Since they submit their will, Christ will use their public commitment to display His power in a grand event.
Feast of Unleavened Bread - Saints Seek a Safe Place
As soon as the abomination of Desolation is set up, the persuaded ones know to flee to a place of safety. Is that a literal place? Probably, but certainly it is a spiritual refuge where they will be sheltered under the arm of God. They have just witnessed the slaying of the prophets. This is a trial of faith. They must demonstrate their faith by fleeing from the world and depending upon God to shelter them. Their run to God is a demonstration for the universe and proves Ha Satan wrong about the children of God. God rewards their faith by giving them the ability to stand on the sea of glass just like Peter walked on water.
The sea of glass is the laver that stands in the courtyard just in front of the tabernacle. The laver is where the priest would wash himself before entering the tabernacle. The saints have been washed and are clean with a heart's desire is to dwell in the tabernacle of God and serve Him as priests and kings. Revelation 7:9-17 They cannot enter in until the Heavenly tabernacle has been cleansed from confessed sins. Revelation 15:1-8 Remember, no man could enter the earthly tabernacle until the incense had been offered and the atonement made. Leviticus 16:17
This act was demonstrated on the Day of Atonement by the Great High Priest bringing the blood of the sacrificial goat mingled with the sins of the faithful out of the tabernacle and placing it on the head of the scapegoat. The scapegoat was then led into the wilderness by a strong man. Leviticus 16 This will literally happen when God's wrath is poured out and Satan is left in this desolate place for 1,000 years. Revelation 20:1-3
The courtyard represents the wilderness of the earth. The tabernacle represents the Heavenly dwelling place of God. Hebrews 8:1-6 As long as the saints are standing on the sea of glass (laver) they are still on earth waiting redemption. They stand there demonstrating the power and strength of their God manifest through their faith.
The laver represents the sea where God casts our confessed sins never to be remembered anymore. The sins of the saints no longer weigh them down pulling them under. They believe God can cleanse them and make them whole. Their faith in God allows them to rise above their sins and walk on water. However, it is the devil's desire to shake their faith, but the faith of those standing on the sea of glass is unshakable.
Peter started walking on the water and became afraid but, when he cried out, Jesus stretched out His hand and saved Peter. The saints will cry unto their Savior during this time and He will answer them. This time of standing on the sea of glass marks the spring festival Feast of Unleavened Bread and begins the day after Passover. Before this time began, the saints rid themselves of all leavening (sin) in their lives. Their house (body) is filled with faith in God. This time of trial will last a week, but God will work a miracle in the midst of the week which will strengthen the saints.
First Fruits - Prophets are Resurrected - Plagues Fall
There will come a time when the saints stand on this sea of glass by virtue of their faith without having to be propped up. God is about to reward the faith of the prophets (144,000) and the saints with a grand event mentioned earlier. God is the God of the living. Just like Jesus used the death of Lazarus to demonstrate the power of God unto life through the resurrection, He will use the death of the prophets for the same purpose. God will resurrect the 144,000 on First Fruits. Revelation 14:1-5 When the saints witness the resurrection of the prophets, their faith is rewarded with assurance. They know that their redemption also draws nigh because First Fruits will begin the counting of the Omer. They know they do not have more than fifty days until Jesus comes; however, this is the time that is so horrible that it will be cut short for the sake of the saints. If God did not cut it short, their would be none left alive. Matthew 24:22; Mark 13:20
The moment the prophets are resurrected as first fruits, the wrath of God is poured out in the form of the plagues. Satan and his followers do not have time or resources to pursue the saints because they are occupied at the moment. The saints are not harmed by the plagues because they are sheltered by God. Since they chose to tabernacle with God during this time of duress, they will tabernacle with God in His Heavenly sanctuary where they will serve him during their respite from all pain and suffering. Revelation 7:9-17
Pentecost/Day of Atonement - Harvest of the World - Jesus Comes as King of Kings
Pharaoh wanted relief from the plagues and agreed to let the Israelites go, but he never really repented from his sins. His pursuit of the Israelites with the intention to make war against them was proof that he did not have any genuine remorse. The followers of Ha Satan know that he is a deceiver but neither do they repent of their sins. Revelation 16:10-11
Ha Satan also knows that the way has been made for the saints to cross over into the exodus. Isaiah 11:15-16; Revelation 16:12 He also gathers his army to make war against the saints and their God. Revelation 16:13-16 The pursuit of the Israelites by Pharaoh are a type of the battle of Armageddon. They make a lot of noise, but they never really enter into battle. The tolerance of God has been spent. The vial of the seventh angel is poured out delivering the fierceness of God's wrath which completely annihilates Babylon and all the cities of the nations.
The Day of Atonement is a day of reckoning. If you have chosen God, He will prepare you to meet your Maker. If you chose another, you do not want to meet your Maker. The presence of the Holy God is more terrifying than the ugly side of Ha Satan. Matthew 10:28 However, for the saints, it is a blessed moment in time.
The dead in Christ are resurrected and those of us that are left alive ascend to meet them in the sky for our journey to Heaven. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 God desires to dwell with man and has invited us to His Heavenly abode for a respite during the Sabbatical of the land. The earth is left desolate and Satan is left behind with all of his dead servants that will not be resurrected until the second resurrection which is not a blessed and holy event. The ones participating in the second resurrection also partake of the second death at the Great White Throne judgment. Revelation 20:4-6; 11-15
