Feast of Trumpets or the Days of Awe Full

After Elul, we enter into the High Holidays or Yamim Noraim known as ("The Days of Awe").  Day 1 of Tishrei begins Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) and lasts until day 10 of Tishrei which marks Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).  Trumpets are blown during Rosh Hashanah explaining why it is called the Feast of Trumpets.  These trumpets are to warn us that significant things are about to occur.  It is an opportunity to prepare to meet the king of the universe.  Also, God opens the book of life on the first day of Rosh Hashanah indicating that this period of time is an opportunity to enter into eternal life.  However, the book of life is closed on Yom Kippur indicating that the opportunity to partake of eternal life will pass.  Rosh Hashanah is also known as the day of judgment.  The theme is that God is the king of the universe and will be making an appearance.  Rosh Hashanah is your opportunity to make Him your king.

The Feast of Trumpets is a ten day period designed to remind us that we can't be right with God until we are right with our fellow man.  If you have hatred in your heart for another person, you do not have room in your heart for God.  The Feast of Trumpets is a time to make things right with others.  It is something you do because God loves them and you love Him.  Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,  leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.   Matthew 5:23-24

I sincerely wish the Days of Awe only lasted ten twenty-four hour periods, but this period of time is much longer than that.  The ten days are like the ten days of tribulation for the church of Smyrna.  Revelation 2:10   It is representative of a period of time that will be sufficient to complete the task of delivering God's own.  Isaiah 66:9  In fact, the ten days of tribulation described in Smyrna is a type of the tribulation time of the world during the last days.  Jesus said that in this world we will know tribulation.  In every generation of believers, there has been at least one group of people somewhere on the surface of the earth that is suffering for the sake of Christ.  The church is commissioned to deliver God's message to the world, and the prince of this world will resist this message.  His common method of resistance is tribulation of the saints.  During this time God will empower His saints with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit; therefore, the Days of Awe will be both awesome and awful.

The number ten is symbolic of an amount that is complete and sufficient.  For example:  ten commandments, ten plagues, ten virgins, ten parts equaling total income with one part being God's tithe, ten silver pieces, etc.  The amount of time that the martyrdom of the time of the end will be allowed is represented by the number ten because it is a sufficient time for God to fulfill and complete His act of reconciliation.  However, prepare for this time to last longer than ten literal days.  I humbly suggest that you will need enough oil in your lamp to last 3.5 years.  I base my understanding on Daniel 12:7, 11.

Elul
30 days
Rosh Hashanah - Feast of Trumpets - Days of Awe
1260 days (times, time and half a time)
Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement
Last Day of Awe

You are probably wondering why the 30 days of Elul are literal during the time of the end, but the 10 days of Rosh Hashanah are representative of a longer period of time.  That is a fair question.  I will attempt to answer this question for you.  If the time period during the time of the end fits within a calendar year, it will be equitable to the duration of the feast days.  If the time period during the time of the end is longer than a calendar year, it will be represented by 7 days or 10 days during the biblical feasts.  The numbers 7 and 10 represent completion.  The Days of Awe during Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) are represented by 10 days because it represents how long this time of trial for the inhabitants of earth will last.

God uses 7 or 10 days to represent a much longer period of time during the time of the end because the longer period of time will not fit within the annual calendar.  However, the feasts come around annually providing opportunity for the patriarch of the family to share the feast and festivals with the next generation.  This perpetuates a cyclical learning experience and extends the message of the feasts and festivals to the children of the children until the end of days and beyond.

Why do the Days of Awe last 1,260 days?  The scripture in Daniel 12:7 says it will last a time, times and a half a time.  The scripture interprets itself.  In Daniel 4:16, 23, 25, 32 Nebuchadnezzar is told that he will be like a beast in the field for seven times because that is how long it will take him to know that the Most High rules the kingdoms of mankind.  It is accepted by most theologians that his illness lasted seven years.  Israel has a lunar calendar with 360 days in the year.  Every 19 years a leap month is added to make up for the missing days.  Therefore, a time equals a year of 360 days or 360 days x 3.5 years = 1,260 days.

Finally, the ministry of Jesus lasted 3.5 years.  He had 3.5 years to convince the world that He was the Messiah.  Ha Satan will be given the same amount of time to try the world like he tried Job.  This is the deception of the last days that is sent by God.  2 Thessalonians 2:8-11  Just like God allowed Ha Satan to try Job, God will allow him to try the saints.  Job knew God was his safe place.  God will be our safe place, also.  John 10:27-30

Asteroids Impact the Earth - God's Four Sore Judgments

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 are parallel passages in the Bible describing last day events.  Luke describes  a time when there will be fearful events and signs from heaven.  Luke 21:11  Daily the world faces many kinds of peril, but we are alert for the possibility of an asteroidal impact threatening the very existence of our planet.  Scientists, both professional and amateur, keep watch on the skies so we can make preparation should we be threatened by an asteroid.  I believe the the trumpets in Revelation 8 describe asteroidal impacts.

The first impact will be smaller meteorites that will fall like fire and brimstone on a continent burning up the grass and many of the trees.  The next asteroid will be larger and will fall in the ocean killing many sea creatures, destroying many ocean vessels and causing tidal waves that will wipe out coastal cities far and wide.  The next asteroid will fall on a continent and will cause the earth to ripple and bend.  It will sever everything underground including any waste products we have buried deep in the earth's abyss.  Waste products and radiation will poison the fresh water supply.  The sky will be darkened by the soot and ashes from the pit of the broken earth as it travels through the jet stream.  Global warming will probably cease to be a problem.  Instead, we may experience dark winters.

God has four sore judgments that He has used repeatedly with those that He loves.  They are famine, pestilence, sword and wild beasts.  It is in His nature to bestow good things on both the just and the unjust.  It is against His nature to commit destructive acts; therefore, He desires a people that will explain it to the multitudes.  Ezekiel 14:21-23  The trumpets are acts of God designed to sound warning to a perishing world.  The effects of the trumpets will cause wide spread hunger and disease.  The animals will lose their habitats and will encroach upon humanity turning into wild beasts driven by fear and hunger.  Humanity will also act like wild beasts.  Even the family unit will be completely fractured by these events.  Matthew 10:34-39; Luke 12:51-53  Neighborhood watches will not prevail since everyone will be watching their neighbor to see what he has and the opportune moment to take it from him.  The lawlessness will absolutely overwhelm any government agencies.  The only law will be enforced martial law.

Celestial Invasion

Following quickly behind global devastation and disaster like we have never seen, will be the most amazing sight the world has ever witnessed.  The veil between the celestial and the terrestrial will be lifted.  There are things of the spirit world that are not beheld by mankind today.  Colossians 1:15-16   However, the veil between our world and the spirit world will be lifted and we will see even more fearful sights.  We will see pure evil in the manifestation of the demons.  Revelation 9:1-12  However, we are uneducated regarding the demonic world, even in the church.  Therefore, we will not recognize these creatures as demons from the bottomless pit.  We have been conditioned by Hollywood to expect aliens.  We will perceive these creatures as an alien invasion.

Suddenly, all the nations that were busy making war against each other will have a common enemy.  All the nations will set aside their anger with each other because they are more fearful of their shared enemy.  This enemy will be fierce and will cause men to want to die.  They will torment most of mankind for about five months.  They will not have the ability to torment the saints that are sealed before the trumpets begin sounding because they know who the enemy is.  They know that these are demons from the bottomless pit and not aliens from another planet.  Those that know God have rest in Him.

After five months of this torment, mankind from all the nations will realize that they can not make war against this enemy.  They are not large enough in number and they do not have the weaponry.  Their combined military might is just not enough to prevail.  The leaders of our nations will be impotent against this army, yet they will huddle together clinging to one another as their only lifeline.  The leadership recognizes that all the world has is each other and our hope that there is a god.  Our fears will unite us in a common union in a way that previous peace treaties never could forming our New World Order.  The biggest concern of the New World Order is that we do not have a fearless leader.  We are like the armies of Saul facing Goliath, and we need a savior.  We have never been more vulnerable to the appearance of the antichrist.
